Early Learning in Burpengary
At Apollo Villages Burpengary, an early learning centre, children move freely between indoor and outdoor spaces, guided by curiosity and hands-on experiences. Time spent outdoors is part of everyday learning, helping children build confidence and independence over time.
Children’s safety and wellbeing are our top priorities. Our educators carefully supervise activities and create spaces where children can explore and take safe, considered challenges.
At our long day care centre, children’s interests shape our approach to early learning. We support curiosity, inspiring them to make decisions and be actively engaged as they plan, problem-solve, socialise and collaborate with others.
Our dedicated educators, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, observe each child, respond thoughtfully and tailor their learning. This approach from nursery to Kindy provides a foundation that respects individual learning and personalised care.
Children move through indoor and outdoor spaces designed for exploration and discovery. Comfortable and protected areas provide places to sit, roll, stand and cuddle, supporting the youngest children to engage at their own pace.
They spend plenty of time outdoors, free to investigate, explore and engage with the natural world. Nature play supports wellbeing and is especially important in the early years, helping children build their first connections with the environment.
Children interact with features like hills and water, explore sensory materials such as sand and leaves, and discover plants and animals. Weather and the seasons add another layer of learning and adventure, letting children learn through experience and play.
Indoors, children discover quiet nooks and cosy corners, enjoy sensory play, and explore creativity through art and music. These spaces give them freedom to focus, experiment, and express themselves, supporting their imagination, coordination and social connections.
A range of materials and equipment allows children to lead their own play and test their skills. Thoughtful challenges help them become flexible thinkers and investigators through experiences that are safe yet adventurous.
Everyday routines, such as toileting, nappy changing, eating and resting, are woven into the day creating moments for social learning, positive interaction and collaboration. Each part of the day helps children connect, engage and feel included.
Families are central to life at Apollo Villages Burpengary. From enrolment, we build respectful relationships, involve families in decisions about their child, and connect with community services for support.
We keep families connected and informed through the Storypark platform, monthly newsletters and notices. Our childcare educators are always available for a conversation, ensuring parents and carers can discuss their child’s learning and wellbeing or answer any questions.
We value the strong connections we have with our local community. These relationships enrich our learning program and support children’s sense of belonging. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds to share their interests and experiences with the children.
Apollo Villages Burpengary sits just a few minutes’ walk from Burpengary Station, with Burpengary State School in the opposite direction. The Burpengary Library is further along Station Road, with ample green space between the centre and its books.
The childcare centre reflects the character of the Burpengary neighbourhood with generous outdoor areas for children to play and explore.
From the earliest days of Burpengary, children played around the green wattle trees that gave the suburb its name, Burpen-gar, meaning ‘place of the green wattle tree’.
Our outdoor playscapes continue this tradition, helping children connect with nature and the local community.
At Apollo Villages Burpengary, inclusions are all part of the daily experience. Nappies, wipes, meals and snacks are provided, along with meaningful incursions such as annual visits from the dentist and excursions to the library or local shops.
